I'm Francesco Demo, I'm 26 and I'm from Veneto. I have a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master's degree in Management, both from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. I worked for a strategic consulting firm in Milan, developing projects with one of the main Italian banking groups. In this context, I began to discover the world of the data analysis and the data science and, therefore, I began to look for information about it. I decided to enrol in this master to shift my career path to one of the professions that will be increasingly in demand in the coming years and to differentiate myself from most common economics students with regards to hard skills. In my free time I love to read, take long walks and travel.

My name is Fatima Zahra Abid. I was born and raised in Verona, Italy. I'm Italian and Moroccan and since I was born, every year, I visit my family in Morocco. I've attented Social sciences in High School and I become very passionate about Sociology, Anthropology and Social Psychology. I decided to accomplish a Bachelor and a Master's Degree in Sociology and Research Methods in order to achieve theoretical and practical tools to question and understand social phenomena. My great interest is to observe and analyze social products from several social contexts. Considering the opportunities, due to technological breakthrough and innovation, in the social research field, I become interested and enthusiast in deepen the field of Data Science in order to further investigate and understand actual phenomena.

I graduated in Theoretical Physics at the University of Padova. In particular, I focused on the theoretical description of the so-called fundamental interactions, which are four "forces" which regulate all natural phenomena.
I am interested in Mathematics and Physics, as well as new technologies and how these modify society. Therefore, I decided to enroll in this course to develop the necessary skills to be an active part of the rapid changes occurring in our world, and to learn the tools to become a Data Scientist.

I was born in Verona in 1991. After graduating in philosophy at the University of Padova, I decided to move to Utrecht (in the Netherlands) to enroll in a master’s degree in Applied Ethics. During my studies in digital ethics, I had the opportunity to discover the world of Big Data. Despite not having any technical knowledge, I was attracted by the multiple perspectives offered by this innovative field. For this reason, once I came back to Italy, I decided to enroll in the Master in Big Data Analytics and Social Mining at the University of Pisa.

Maragno

Born in Padua in 1993, I moved to Bologna and graduated in Anthropology, Religions and Eastern Culture. I then moved to Rotterdam to attend the master in Arts, Culture and Society, where I studied social theories and research methods, with a focus on different ways of experiencing culture and the arts, and writing a thesis on Rotterdam Museums' visitors. Later, I moved to London where I worked for a well known research market agency, participating in international projects in several areas, both offline and online. My experience in London determined my decision to focus on the digital world and especially on Big Data, which are more and more critical in our society. I enrolled in the Big Data Analytics Master to acquire technical skills together with a broader knowledge on how to extract information from data and how to use it in a strategic and informed manner.

I'm graduated in Intercultural Development of Tourist Systems at Ca' Foscari University and Graphic and Multimedia Communication at Iusve University. I'm into sport, travel and new technologies. During my studies I worked as freelancer web dev on digital marketing projects and supported the management of some tourist resorts. In order to face the fast change brought by the digital transformation, I guess we all need a never-stop-learning approach, and this master gets right to the point.

I was born in Verona but I lived most of my life in Padua, Salerno, Crete and now in Pisa. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Archeology at the University of Padua and then, during my master's years, I specialized in Urban Planning of the Ancient Greek World at the University of Salerno. While working with the University, I begun to study and use databases, GIS, statistical techniques and programming languages ​​related to data science. For this reason I decided to begun this path with the Master in Biga Data.

Pizzardo

Born in Rovigo in 1992, I obtained the Master’s degree in Physics at the University of Padua, with honors. I have discussed a thesis in Cosmology, combinig the theoretical and the computational aspects of this discipline to develop and prove the potentialities of a linear response function dealing with the non-linear effects acting on the evolution of the large-scale structure of the Universe at the baryon acoustic oscillations scales. I have always been attracted by the capability of data to reveal enlightening information if appropriately handled, leading to the solution of complex problems regarding different areas, from the business to the social and political ones, so I am attending this course to complete my formation, in order to acquire the knowledge needed to immerse myself in the Data Science world, to make of it the core of my future working activity.

Marco Danzo

Danzo

Born in province of Vicenza on the 04/25/1988. He moved to Padova, where he graduated in in Business and Administration (bachelor degree), then to Venice where he obtained the master degree in Economics and Finance with the top grade and a dissertation about crowdfunding in Italy. During that period, he had the opportunity to spend an academic year at ICMA Center in Berkshire (UK). After the studies, he joined a consultancy firm operating on company’s evaluation, market analysis and business planning. During that time, he worked also with start-ups and this has increased his interest on innovation. He discovered the phenomenon of big data and he started to be interested in it, especially for what regards production activities and business prevision and planning.

Giulia De Poli

De Poli

I earned my masters degree in Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Padua with a thesis completed in the research laboratories of Philips in Eindhoven based on self-learning algorithms for detection of electrical appliances. I started to be interested in data mining and data analysis, after a year working in Italy as software developer, I moved to Dublin. There I worked for three years in a start-up specialized in energy consumption analysis, performing various roles from the design of new algorithms to software development, including working in several European projects. Hence the interest in this master, to deepen my knowledge in data analysis and integrate it with my personal interest in social issues.
