Stefano received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Computer Engineering from the University of Pisa respectively in 2007 and 2013. He also received a post-graduate Master’s degree in Big Data Analytics & Social Mining from the University of Pisa in 2016. Currently, he is a PhD Student at the Information Engineering School of the University of Pisa. He is also a Research Fellow at the Institute of Informatics and Telematics (IIT) of the National Research Council (CNR) in Pisa, Italy. His professional experiences encompass both national and international collaborations with renowned research institutions and enterprises such as the Nokia Bell Labs (Paris, France), ISTI-CNR (Pisa, Italy), IIT-CNR (Pisa, Italy), the LARTTE Laboratory of the Scuola Normale Superiore (Pisa, Italy). He published research papers, attended, and presented his works in several national and international conferences. He also published results of his research in several national and international peer-reviewed journals. In addition, he attended and actively participated in several national and international project meetings (EU FP7, Justice, Horizon 2020). Results of his research activity have also been discussed in local and national newspapers, as well as in data journalism blogs. He currently is, and has been, part of the technical program committee of several top international conferences such as SIGKDD 2016, SIGIR 2016, TrustCom 2015, UBICOMM 2015, and more. He also serves as a reviewer for several international journals such as the IEEE Transactions of Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE), IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (TDSC), Decision Support Systems (Elsevier), and the International Journal of Information Security (Springer). His interests encompass: social media analysis and mining, social sensing, crowdsensing, crisis informatics, big data, event detection, trust and security on social media, and Web applications.
